My Hook!

Updated: Apr 15, 2020

Well, after month's of looking at other synopsis and query examples, saving over 30 that I liked, and then narrowing it down to use one as my template, I finally created the "Hook" for my query letter. I used my template and rewrote it for my story. Then rewrote it again, and again, and again, and again. I think I finally have reached a final write of my Hook. Those of you who don't know what the hook is, it is really the most important part of a Query letter that is meant to hook the Literary Agent and make them want to ask to read more. A daunting task considering it might only be this small paragraph that snares a great agent for the author to get published. Something not to be taken lightly.

So here is mine, tell me what you think?

In K. R. Dunn’s action-packed thriller “The Man Who Could,” super-agent Joe Werner learns to wield his recently acquired powers as he is confronted with the darker side of mankind. A dangerous terrorist group called the Marque has its sights set on global dominance. Aligned with an expert team, Joe must pursue the group around the world as his daughter is threatened, and a beautiful British Interpol agent entices to steal his heart. Time is running out. If he and his team can’t stop them, millions will die.
